A Horse On The Up

We've had a quiet 10 days or so after another great little spell for the yard! Alflaila won Pontefract's Listed race back at the end of July very convincingly! He's really started to get his act together now and could run at York next in a Group 3!

Anmaat stepped up on his John Smith's win with a very impressive performance in Haydock's Rose of Lancaster Group 3! I have to admit that I honestly didn't envisage him doing it the way he did but he's obviously a horse on the up!!

Tarrabb is another who's getting everything together now! She won at Haydock nicely in The Sunday Series Fillies Handicap where the handicapper was obviously impressed as he put her up 7lb!! Another handicap at Ascot at the beginning of September is next on her agenda.

I was very pleased with Minzaal's run in The Group 1 in France where he finished 2nd. Things didn't quite set up right for him as it didn't really suit the holdup horses and the ground was very quick! He's been Group 1 placed at 2,3 & now 4 so I'd love to see him get his head in front in one soon!! The Group 1 Haydock Sprint is next.

It looks as if we are going to finally get some rain but typically it looks as if it's going to come in thunder storms so plenty of it will just run off! We need days of nice steady rain to get into the ground and make a difference. It will be nice to get some of the 2-year-olds on the grass as at the moment, they think it's just for eating!!!

We've a few entries at the end of the week but they are up in the air as it will depend on what tracks get the rain!
