September Review: Group success in Germany and Doncaster

Gymbaazy wins the Group 3 153rd Renate und Albrecht Woeste at Baden-Baden

Gymbaazy got the month off to an excellent start with an impressive victory in the Group 3 153rd Renate und Albrecht Woeste – Zukunfts-Rennen at Baden-Baden in Germany. Ridden by Daniel Muscutt, he delivered a memorable success for Ahmad Al Shaikh and Green Team Racing.

Waardah lands the Group 2 Betfred Park Hill Fillies’ Stakes

Waardah provided another highlight, landing the Group 2 Betfred Park Hill Fillies’ Stakes at Doncaster for Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum. His sad passing at the end of the month made this victory all the more poignant, and our thoughts are with his family and all those who knew him.

The Third Star also got off the mark for the yard, recording her first victory at Southwell for owner-breeder Strawberry Fields Stud.

Looking ahead

Looking ahead, we have an exciting weekend of racing. Calendar Girl lines up in the Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket, while over at Longchamp, Waardah contests the Group 1 Prix de Royallieu and George Cross runs in the Arqana Series race.

Our attention then turns to Tattersalls, where Book 1 of the October Yearling Sale takes place next week.
