End of year reflections

As we come to the end of the 2025 season, I wanted to take the opportunity to reflect on the year and to thank everyone who has played a part in it.
Racing never stands still, and each season brings its own challenges and rewards. 2025 has been no different, but it has been a year I’m proud of, both in terms of what we’ve achieved on the track and the standards maintained at home.
A Year of Winners and Consistency
We’ve been fortunate to enjoy a number of winners throughout the season, with horses delivering at different stages of their careers and across a range of races. Seeing horses progress, step up, and ultimately get their heads in front is always hugely satisfying, and it’s a credit to the work put in by the whole team.
While winners are what everyone sees, they are only part of the picture. Behind each success is months — often years — of careful management, planning, and patience. Some horses delivered immediately; others showed the kind of progress that gives us plenty to look forward to moving into next season.
The Team Behind the Results
I cannot thank the staff enough for their commitment and professionalism throughout the year.
The day-to-day standards in the yard are what allow horses to thrive, and that comes down to the people looking after them. From the riders and grooms to everyone involved behind the scenes, the work ethic and attention to detail have been excellent all year.
Racing is demanding, particularly over a long season, and the consistency shown by the team has been a real strength of the yard in 2025.

Owners and Their Support
I’m also very grateful to our owners for their continued support and trust.
Racing is rarely straightforward, and plans don’t always unfold exactly as hoped. The willingness of owners to stay patient, to listen, and to work together makes a huge difference.
Looking Ahead
As we close out the year, there are plenty of positives to take forward into 2026. Several horses head into the winter having taken important steps this season, and we’ll continue to plan carefully with each individual in mind.
The aim remains the same: to place horses well, manage them properly, and give them the best possible chance to perform to their ability.
Thank You
Finally, thank you to everyone who has supported the yard throughout 2025, owners, staff, and supporters alike.
Your backing is very much appreciated, and I’m looking forward to what the next season brings.
Kind regards,
Owen Burrows
